THE SINGLE GIRLS GUIDE TO THE EASTER LONG WEEKEND IN SYDNEY…
Stuck in Sydney this Easter long weekend? Don’t despair, it’s not actually all bad! We have a few suggestions for you…
For all the girls who will be staying put this Easter Long Weekend in Sydney – don’t despair! Who needs an exotic expensive trip away when you can have so much fun in your own city! In addition to the chocolate eggs and champagne you’ll be consuming (standard) we have composed a little fun list for all the Femmes who may be at a loss this weekend.
Ladies Who Lunch
This is our number one favourite activity and what we will be doing this weekend! Grab a group of your best lady friends and book a fabulous lunch somewhere! There is nothing better than chatting the day away over a few vino’s…trust us, we are very experienced at this. Where to go? for something casual and by the beautiful water (try to enjoy last few weeks of sunshine) try Watsons Bay Beach Club or Manly Wharf Bar. If you want to step it up a notch, why not head to Woolloomooloo Wharf or Bondi Fish. Both of these provide plenty of people watching and beautiful sunsets. If you find yourselves wanting to kick on, head to The Butler in Potts Point for some post-lunch cocktails and espresso martinis.
Begin Autumn Carnival in style at Royal Randwick. Put on a nice frock, grab the girls – again – and head to the track for bets and bubbles. Actually this is a good one to ask your couple friends to as the boys are super good at making the bets whilst you girls hit the champagne bar! We definitely recommend getting yourself to the members area, and if you can swing it, a much coveted spot up at The Stables. No idea what to wear? read our Autumn Racing piece for some inspiration. Have a bet for us…we’ll be at lunch!
Walk It Off
There is no better activity on a weekend than a long walk by the water. (Especially when you need to walk off the champagne calories!) You have absolutely no excuse in Sydney, your options are endless. We love Bondi to Coogee (if you can make it that far!) or Balmoral to Chowder Bay. Both of these involve spectacular views, enough terrain to make it worth it and reward yourself with a yummy coffee at the end! If you are brave enough, jump in for a refreshing swim after. But let’s get real Ladies… thats probably not going to happen. But nothing like a walk and swim to get centred and relax on your own….
Always talking about visiting Sydney’s best galleries but never have time? Well, now you have 4 days to get up and get to a gallery! Have something cultured to boast to your colleagues and loved up couples about come next Tuesday… Our favourites? MCA (of course), White Rabbit Gallery in Chippendale, and Powerhouse Museum -fun if you have your nephews or nieces for the afternoon.
My Love Affair With Dior....
Love film & fashion? Hop along to The Verona in Paddington and immerse yourself in the behind-the-scenes action of Raf Simmons first Haute Couture at the house of Dior. Carrie from Sex and The City used to love heading by herself for a little french film and popcorn! Also – a single girl can spend hours perusing the shops…Why not do a little shopping at The Intersection while you’re at it!
Learn Something New
Being on your own can be super empowering and so good for your soul. Invest in yourself by learning something new for your mind and your body. Our latest obsession? Stand up paddle boarding! Have loads of fun out on the water while defining those arms and abs. We love Terry’s lessons at Watsons Bay Stand Up Paddling. We recommend going as early as possible so you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings. It’s probably one of your last chances to get out on the water before the weather turns.
